The IGAD Regional HIV and AIDS Partnership Program (IRAPP) held a 3-days consultative forum, from 26th to 28th, of October, 2009 in Kampala, Uganda.
The three days meeting was well attended by the IGAD member states including the Executive Secretary of IGAD Engineer Mahboub Maalim. Also in attendance were IRAPP donors The World Bank and CIDA, Development partners like IOM, the project implementers (UNHCR and Countries’ National AIDS Commissions –NACs), the Project Facilitation Office staff). The Quality Enhancement Review team from The World Bank was also present to offer technical support to the implementers of the program.
The main objective of the workshop was; To review progress on the implementation of the countries’ Annual Work Plans and identify priorities and a common work program to be achieved before the end of the year.
The IGAD Regional HIV/AIDS Partnership Program (IRAPP) was established to assist in addressing the regional challenges of HIV/AIDS in particular addressing vulnerable groups in the cross-boarder areas of the 7 IGAD member states that include Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Somalis, Sudan and Uganda.
